Independence Day, Statesmen, and Campaigns

I’ll admit I’m a bit of a history nerd. For some odd reason, I’ve always found history interesting. It doesn’t seem to matter what history either. However, in light of the 4th of July coming up tomorrow, I have found myself thinking about American history the past couple of days.

Two hundred and thirty-two years ago, our nation declared independence from Great Britain. Our Founding Fathers banded together to support each other in this Declaration of Independence, and led the thirteen colonies in a struggle for true liberty and freedom. How many of us stop to think about what these men were laying on the line in their struggle for “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?” One of my favorite figures from American history is Patrick Henry. Henry was so bold as to make the statement that we all know so well, “Give me Liberty, or give me death!” He meant that too, as he led a volunteer force against Lord Dunmore, the royal governor of Virginia, in order to force him to restore the colony’s gunpowder, which had been taken. This was the first armed confrontation to the British authority in that colony.

Perhaps you’re a statesman running for an office right now. If you are, what drives you? What is your passion? Why do you want to serve “we the people”? What sets you apart from every other politician out there running for office? Lastly, how do you intend on getting that message out?

PrintMyThing can help you communicate your message about how you would like to serve your constituents. From bumper stickers, to yard signs, to custom campaign magnets, we can help you set your message apart from other “politicians” out there.
