What is Picnik, you ask? Contrary to the first thing that likely entered your brain, Picnik is an online tool for performing basic photo retouching. As a company that spends lots of hours with graphics programs, and has developed a similar technology for labels/tags/etc, we certainly see the importance of online tools such as Picnik

Is this like Photoshop, where I have to have a degree in graphic nerdiness to use it? NO!!! Certainly not, in fact, those with nerd related degrees will probably be turned off by this site because it does make things so easy. See the screenshot below of yours truly, and notice the tools just above the image. You can Rotate, Crop, or Resize the image…Change the Exposure (if things are too bright or dark), mess with the Colors, Sharpen or even do a Red-Eye Reduction. Adding Text or a Frame or even some Clipart is as easy as clicking the buttons.

Just by poking around for a minute or two, I was able to make these 3 adjustments by selecting some of the preset tools and playing with the adjusting sliders…The best part is, you do not need to sign-up to use it. Just visit www.picnik.com and upload a photo to start.
