Every designer knows that high quality graphics/files can be hard to come by and honestly, a lot of times it just doesn’t matter. Think YouTube…millions of people will watch car crashes filmed on a $300 flip cam with awful quality…People are uploading family photos from their iphone to facebook. In all those cases what’s good enough, is really not that good. But Wait! high quality things still have a place for those of us in the printing world. What makes it hard is when you know there’s good stuff out there but you don’t have it. I have one resource that can help to eliminate some of that stress and it’s called “Brands of the World“. These folks index and store high quality copies of logos available for download…for free. They usually have all the different versions of logos (horizontal, vertical, color variations, etc). Large companies and small can be found there. Now, obviously you need to have permission to use these logos, but why hassle the person you’re working with at “x” company when you can just as easily get it from Brands of the World. We at PrintMyThing are always on the lookout for tools that make our work easier/better as well as making the experience for the customers easier/better.
